The Minister for Roads and Highways in Ghana , Governs Kwame Agbodza, has given contractors working on the Accra-Kumasi Bypass until the end of August to return to site or indicate that they are no longer interested in the project.
As the contractors have stoped working on this various roads from Accra to Kumasi .
In his statement he says the government want them on track as soon as possible.
According to the Minister, the Accra-Kumasi Bypass is a major project, and contractors currently working on it are also executing other projects elsewhere, making it unacceptable for them to remain off-site.

He disclosed that the original cost of the project, which was estimated at GH¢1.9 billion, has now risen to almost GH¢6 billion.
