The Bank Of Ghana ( BOG ) has follow its law even before 3rd November for releasing the heritage series of currency into the country by arresting 7 Ghanaian citizens for using the currency to do banquets.
This happened when this seven citizens all women didn’t follow up on the new law being passed about the Ghana Cedi notes. They immediately went on a collaboration with the Ghana Police and arrested them immediately after they saw it. And warned the citizens to take note of this rules being implemented to keep the currency safe and clean. Using it has banquet is using intentionally destroying the value of the money and we are not going to tolerate that from now on. If we are able to keep the notes clean it all help push the country forward without putting pressure on bank of Ghana for not making clean and new currency into the system that will also lead to lost of funds into the process of printing new ones on board.
The bank Of Ghana at first Rules are simple and edged every citizens to comply if not that will be arrested.

- Citizens should comply with the rules of holding the currency well without crumpling them.
- Citizens should not use the currency notes on them To get wet , when they know perfectly well that is raining.
- Citizens should keep the currency notes clean and not dirty them.
- Citizens should not used currency in a form of decorative purposes in gifting others such wedding, birthday and other moments.
- Citizens are not allowed to throw currency into the air or spreading across the ground in a form of jubilation. It is total disrespect to the currency.
- Citizens are not allowed to burn currency.
- Currency notes that are torn down should just be taken to the bank to be changed to avoid further damages.

With all this rules being made , the boss of bank of Ghana said , so I still don’t understand why they will still continue to be bad citizens by putting the currency notes in cakes and making it in a form of flowers to destroy the value of the currency. The seven citizens being arrested are going to be used as scapegoats to tell everyone or anyone in the country that the rules we passed are not for fun but we actually mean it so hard and seriously.
The president of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency President Dramani Mahama has said this himself and pleaded with the citizens to comply with the rules since he himself is not even above the law and can’t not avoid the police and the court for arresting and dealing with you the right way, he said.
When you visit the countries like the USA, Japan , Germany , Argentina, Australia and other international countries, even the African countries like our Nigeria which is our sister country ,this can not be done there and because of the arrest they once did you can see this silly act no more in the country as he added.
